Global IC Trading Group collaborates with ChromoLogic LLCs

Global IC Trading Group (GICTG) is pleased to collaborate and support the development of ChromoLogic LLCs Optical Single Authentication Technology (OPSAT) under the DoD Rapid Innovation Fund (HQ0034-13-BAA-RIF-0001/ DLA-13-BAA-RIF-002) “Anti-Counterfeiting Protection: Single Authentication Technology for Multiple High Risk Commodities.”
GICTG is an approved supplier for the Qualified Testing Supplier List (QTSL) and Qualified Suppliers List of Distributors (QSLD) programs for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). GICTG is ISO 9001, AS9120-A, ANSI/ESD S20.20, FAA AC 0-56 and CCAP-101 certified and was one of the first independent distributors to invest heavily in a detailed inspection process with state of the art equipment, including X-Ray, XRF and Decapsulation. GICTG has participated in the development of widely used industry training materials, such as the IDEA 1010-B and actively participates in seminars and symposiums to seek training, new inspection techniques and equipment. The goal is to bring back that information and incorporate it into the company’s internal processes along with industry training materials, continuing in an effort to mitigate suspect material entering the supply chain.
Counterfeit electronic parts are a serious concern across the industry and GICTG is interested in aiding the development of new technologies that can provide a single authentication platform that is applicable to all types of electronics parts which are at high risk of counterfeiting. Furthermore, as a small business, we are particularly interested in solutions that are affordable, easy to use, and effective, since counterfeit mitigation solutions that exist today do not satisfy these important criteria. GICTG has collaborated with ChromoLogic LLC for the past three years on anti-counterfeiting projects for example Reagent-Free DNA-Inspired Barcode (RDB) funded by US Army RDECOM ACQ Ctr (W911NF-09-C-0050) that led to the DTEKTM system of counterfeit mitigation for electronic parts. The DTEKTM system was tested by GICTG at their Laguna Hills facility. GICTG is currently collaborating with ChromoLogic LLC on a next generation technology for counterfeit mitigation of electronic parts called Quantitative Surface and Lead Authentication (QuanTEK) funded by the US Missile Defense Agency (HQ0147-13-C-7310).
During the proposed effort for the OPSAT project, GICTG anticipates providing continued in kind support to enhance and mature the OPSAT technology through collaborative discussions and pilot testing. GICTG and ChromoLogic plan to hold joint discussions in the initial phase of the project to capture requirements. Upon system maturation, the OPSAT technology will be beta tested and validated in a QSLD business environment in order to be considered ready for implementation. If successful, GICTG and ChromoLogic LLC will have the option to explore future collaborative activities to make OPSAT system part of their electronics component validation business process, and aid in the development of time and cost estimates for full implementation and the resulting return of investment to the Defense Logistics Agency.
GICTG looks forward to continuing its collaboration with ChromoLogic LLC to expedite the development of this critical technology for the Defense Logistics Agency.
